Im 24 and I can afford to put away roughly one hundred dollars a week (400 a month). I want to start investing in stocks and mutual funds. Im not looking to get rich fast, but rather sit on some funds for a long time and let them grow. Who should I go through to do this? What is the best value for the trades, etc?

Jeff asked:

I am a 25 year old college student (took a couple of years off) and I am wanting to start planning for my future. I have a part time job where I make decent money and have a little bit extra at the end of the month after savings. I am looking to start investing but the markets seem a bit overwhelming to me. I have lived the life of paycheck to paycheck and no longer want that for me or my future family (whenever that happens lol) but any advice or books I should read would be great. Thanks!

Ben19999 asked:

I hope not to come across the wrong way with this question. Judging from the women I work with and know in my personal life, absolutely zero of them have the concept of or capacity to invest in the future. They would rather spend money on clothes or stuff for today instead of trying to build wealth. I am not saying this is all women in the world, but all the women in ‘my world’ are this way and if you talk about investing with them, they can’t fathom it.
