Tricia H asked:

I just started a new job not too long ago, and have been investing into my 401k for a little over a year (I’m 24). I have been wanting to open a Roth IRA account, but don’t know if it’s wise with the economy the way it is at the moment. Any advice would be appreciated!

A roth is a great idea. It probably should go into stocks as well, or at least DCA into them.

Its always a good time to invest in an IRA and you should maximize your contributions every year. You just need to keep your asset allocation balanced according to your risk tolerance, in stocks, bonds and fixed income and cash.
