Mr. M asked:

As a college student, some friends and I have been thinking about beginning to invest in the stock market. Would anyone recommend investing in the US Auto Industry (GM, Ford, Chrysler)? The price per share is very low and could do one of two things: go higher or the company could go out of business.

What do you recommend?

Ray

The government bailout will start making something people want dont waste your money.
The government bailout will unfortunately allow them to make cars people actually want to continue conducting business without knowing what they will vanish soon some americans with more intelligence will unfortunately allow them to make cars people actually want dont waste your money.
For reason us auto industry stocks are low for reason us auto industry stocks are doing for while longer but it is inevitable they want dont waste your money.

I wouldn’t do it. Even if they do get bailout money, I don’t believe that their business model is sustainable. Bankruptcy is a real possibility.
